💙 Blue Sunday with ME Group Australia (MEGA)
ME Group Australia (MEGA) is joining the global Blue Sunday fundraising event this year on Sunday, 17 May 2026.
Our fundraising starts on 1 April 2026 and closes on 31 May 2026.
We’d be grateful for any support you feel able to offer towards MEGA’s Blue Sunday 2026 fundraising. We know that many in the ME community face financial hardship, and we never want anyone to feel obligated to give.
Blue Sunday’s tradition is simple: if you’re able, you can donate the cost of the tea or coffee you enjoy during your Tea Party for M.E. But just taking part, in whatever way works for you, or helping to spread the word is equally meaningful.
Your presence, your connection, and your voice/smile are all part of what makes Blue Sunday special.

We’d love you to join in the spirit of belonging, visibility, and connection by hosting your own little tea party with friends, family, colleagues, or community during May Awareness Month.
We’re also planning a Blue Sunday Zoom Tea Party – details coming soon.
🌿 What Is Blue Sunday?
Blue Sunday is a gentle, community‑led fundraising event built around the Tea Party For M.E.
Each year, people living with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), along with their friends, families, and supporters, come together online to share photos of their own tea‑party setups and to feel part of something bigger.
For many, this “tea party” takes place from bed. Participants might wear blue pyjamas, use a blue duvet, hang blue bunting, or add a few balloons to make the day feel special. Others who have a little more capacity may host or attend a small in‑person tea party at home, in the garden, or at a local venue. Everyone is encouraged to shape the day around their own health needs.
🌍 A Virtual Gathering That Breaks Isolation
No matter how someone takes part, the heart of Blue Sunday is the sense of connection.
Throughout the day, social media fills with photos of tea cups, cakes, and blue‑themed decorations from people across the world and across time zones.
Participants can join in by posting, commenting, or simply scrolling through the shared moments. For many, it’s a rare chance to feel part of a community, a softer, more joyful pause from the heavier awareness work that often unites us.

☕ Why It Matters
Blue Sunday creates a space where people with ME can participate in a way that feels safe, flexible, and celebratory. It raises vital funds while also offering something just as important: belonging, visibility, and connection.
