Building Capacity for the Future: Introducing the MEGA Virtual Health Hub
As part of our ongoing work to build capacity and credibility, ME Group Australia (MEGA) is developing the MEGA Virtual Health Hub (VHH).
We are delighted to welcome Clare Batkin from Your OT Tutor as our MEGA Health Hub Lead. Clare brings her expertise in invisible disability-aligned occupational therapy and a strong commitment to improving care for people with ME.
The VHH is currently in the planning stage, and its scope and service model will continue to evolve as we co‑design with our community and collaborators.
Below is a brief overview of the concept we are working toward.
What We Aim to Deliver
Membership‑Based Model
The VHH will operate through two membership categories, each with its own fee structure:
- Health Professional Hub
- Health Consumer Hub
Anticipated Services and Activities
We are designing the VHH to support both communities through:
- Developing an ME Subject Matter Specialist Knowledge Base
- Creating on‑demand CPD content for health professionals
- Strengthening health consumer advocacy to drive systemic change and equitable healthcare
- Facilitating peer networking and support
- Establishing referral pathways to ME‑knowledgeable health professionals
Our long‑term vision is to build a strong foundation that leads to the establishment of a dedicated speciality clinic for ME and related conditions.
Be the Change you want to see
If you would like to collaborate or volunteer for this “be the change you want to see” project, we would love to hear from you.
