ME Group Australia (MEGA) invites you to join our upcoming webinar events in recognition of Severe ME Understanding & Remembrance Day (Severe ME Day). This year, we will gather on the afternoon of Saturday, 29 August 2026, to stand with people living with Severe ME and explore the latest research evidence, care knowledge, and practice insights.
| Severe ME Month Webinar | Sat, 29 August 2026 From 3:00 pm (Brisbane time) |

Purpose for the event
As a small charity who does not receive government funding, this event will be a light touch and community focused approach. MEGA dedicates to improving health outcomes for Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME). Our focus is how to practically help people with ME (pwME) and related conditions and their healthcare professionals.
As part of our long‑term commitment to establishing a specialty clinic for ME and related diseases, we are developing the MEGA Virtual Health Hub (VHH). This webinar event contributes to our ongoing capacity and credibility development.
If you can comfortably do so, we are grateful for your donation to support our dream come true.
The event
Our Occupational Therapy Advisor Julie Hughes will host the event.
We will record the event and share on our YouTube channel as soon as they become available.
Event program
The final program is now available. Each presentation has been scheduled with careful consideration, and we encourage you to join the session a little earlier, so you don’t miss the segments most important to you. Please note that presentation times may shift on the day if any unexpected technical issues arise.
We appreciate your patience throughout our slower preparation process. A significant number of volunteers are currently experiencing PENE crashes, and the event is being coordinated by a single volunteer with severe ME. Thank you for your understanding and for your steady support as we move forward at the pace health allows.
Confirmed presenters so far are:
- Julie Hughes (Event Host)
- Dr Etianne Martini Sasso PhD (Recorded presentation)
- Clare Batkin – Owner of Your OT Tutor and MEGA Virtual Health Hub Lead.
- Niti Prakash – NDIS Advocate, Lawyer, SDA Specialist
- Melanie Weeks – Registered Senior Occupational Therapist
- Dr Stanley Du Preez, MD, PhD – Community Coordinator (volunteer)
- Melanie Weeks – Registered Senior Occupational Therapist

Our gratitude for your support
We would like to express our gratitude for all presenters for their time to share their expertise at the event. Their contribution will help us progress with MEGA Virtual Health Hub development towards our dream speciality clinic.
The event is free for everyone. If you are comfortably able to do so, we would appreciate your donation in lieu of ticket price.
We look forward to seeing you at the events!
